Introducing Jennifer's Dressing Table
Updated: Mar 20
Planning what style to choose for your hair on your Wedding Day can be quite a big decision.
Looking through Wedding Magazines or on Pinterest will show you a multitude of different bridal hairstyles for all different types of hair lengths, thicknesses & colours!
This can be a bit of a minefield especially when you also need to consider which hair style you feel will perfectly match your Wedding Dress & the type of veil you want to wear.
Which ever style you choose one thing is for sure, your perfect Wedding Hair style should suit not only your Wedding Dress & Bridal makeup, but your personality too!
Tell me about your Business… and a little bit about YOU - How, why and when you started
My business is called Jennifer’s Dressing Table. I am a Hair & Makeup Artist and I live on the Herefordshire, Worcestershire border.
I originally trained in Theatrical & Media Makeup, Hair & Costume by in 2001 (Eek!) and after a while of honing my skills and gaining experience working in this sector of the Beauty industry I decided to gain extra qualifications, so that I could offer my Clients a range of services and treatments.
So to date I can offer; Makeovers & Hair Styling (vintage, retro or contemporary.) Camouflage Makeup, Natural looking Spray Tans, Gel Nail Extensions and Manicures & Pedicures plus Face & Body Painting(for adults & children. Who doesn’t love a good bit of glitter, right!)
Last but not least, I can turn you into a Zombie (or something equally as gross!) if you so wish, as I also offer SFX Makeup, prosthetics & Hair Styling too!
How did you learn your skills?
I am continually researching, training and staying as up to date as possible. Not just with fashion trends but with products and techniques too. Makeup & Hair Styling for other people is a very personal thing and I make it my duty to achieve the look/style they desire most.
Why you love your business
I get the best of both worlds. I get to use colour and create art, I just happen to do it on the faces, heads and bodies of people instead of paper. They are my canvas.
Tell us about your studio/workspace? Can couples visit you?
Clients are welcome to come to my home if they wish to have a Trial or a Service provided. But I find the beauty of me being mobile/freelance is that I can go to them, wherever they want me at their convenience.
What do you love most about working in or designing products for the wedding industry?
I love that I get to be part of one of the happiest days of a person’s life. To be there with them on the morning of their Wedding Day, helping them to look and feel the very best they can is quite simply an absolute honour!
Who would be your dream client? Dream collaboration?
My dream client is anyone who is happy to go with the flow, who just wants to look and feel great about themselves, but is maybe happy to experiment a little. There is nothing better than showing someone how they can make their best bits sparkle and shine through, with just a few clever colour choices or technique tips.
*If I had to pick a celebrity, well I’d pick two!
Vivienne Westwood for her artistic view on… everything. Or Jennifer Lawrence because not only is she a beautiful canvas, but she seems like she would be a great laugh too. Can you imagine a Photoshoot or event with those two, what a blast that would be!? (I think my head would pop actually!)
