All the reasons why you should be shopping small for your wedding day

Shopping with local businesses has become a part of our everyday life. From the local independent high street coffee shop, the new independent restaurant, and the shops and hairdressers run by your friends.

It is in our nature to protect these businesses who are now a huge part of the local communities we live in, and planning your wedding should absolutely include these businesses to.

I love to shop locally. I love the pride creative businesses have for their products. Pieces that have been created with their heart and soul, from the kitchen table or home studio rather than a faceless factory.

Each of these businesses is the person who dreamed it, created it and put their whole self into it, in order to create something truly magical and unique for you.

Shopping locally gives you the perfect opportunity to really meet the person behind the business and build a relationship with them. From this relationship you will receive a piece that can be kept forever, long after you've said your wedding vows.

Your wedding day is the perfect time to really be able to express your personality as a couple.

I strongly believe your wedding day must be about you, your relationship, your likes and dislikes and you both as a couple. Imagine your wedding day and all its details repeated 1000's of times if couples only had access to the same products and services by a few large companies - how un unique would every wedding be!

Thankfully the wedding industry, especially in the Midland's, boasts an amazing array of independent creative businesses all who are ready to understand you as a couple, and will design and create you something unique, one of a kind and only for you.

Whether that's a bespoke, handcrafted piece of jewellery, a local supplier to create a bouquet made of paper flowers featuring your favourite book, your wedding cake from the local bakery, or your regular hairdresser to do your wedding hair. Each business you choose cares as much about your big day as you do, to them you are not just another order number on an email, but a friend and a supporter who believes in their business.

The wedding markets I organise focus on showcasing local creative businesses from the Midlands, rather than having markets full of businesses from miles away. I feel passionately about showcasing local businesses as the couples visiting my wedding markets will be local, so should the businesses that they meet.
